This week we made some aboriginal art. Some of us used Australian animal templates to trace around and then we painted our picture with dots or xray (which means lines).
We had some special visitors this week. The Silver Threads Brass Band came to play some music for us. They played the national anthem and we all sang along. We had a competition with them to see who could sing it the best. We danced to the songs, If You're Happy and You Know It, the Macarena, the Hokey Pokey and YMCA. We had lots of fun!
We did a retell of The Mark Of The Wagarl. It was about a little boy who swam deep underwater and he saw the wagarl and he was the boss of all the snakes. The wagarl wanted to eat the boy but the boy said "Please don't eat me" and the wagarl said he wouldn't eat him if the boy promised not to tell anyone about him. After that the boy couldn't talk anymore, he could only make a snake sound. The boy had to look after the snakes. When the boy got old and died one of his kids would look after the snakes. The mark he had was a symbol of a snake.
In computer we have started learning how to use Microsoft Powerpoint.

Hi Everyone. I have just been looking through your recounts of your excursion that you have done on the ipads. They are excellent. Youa re all so good at soundign out the words and workign out how to spell them!! I wonder if you found it more fun to recount on the ipad or write them out by hand. The pictures with them are great! Looks like such a fun day. Mrs L

DeleteWe found all your typing mistakes. Miss R makes lots of typing mistakes too so we are pretty good at editing.
Most of us thought it was much more fun to do our recounts on the iPads than it would be to write them.

Oh my gosh! I have just read my last comment and can see lots and lots of typing mistakes. OOPS! I must learn to proof read my comments before I press the save button :) Mrs L
